My first novel has been (re)edited, had a facelift and is now available as an ePub, Kindle Book and paperback. It has been available on Amazon Kindle since last year, but I was sick when I published it and was unable to market it effectively.
I also suspected that I had done a subpar job on the novel itself and was pleasantly surprised to find that the story itself had not suffered too badly. All the same, I have worked on it anew and gave it a good deal of extra polish.
Frankly, I am happiest with the paperback, over which I had the most control in terms of fonts (I used the website's fonts for titles), but the end result is good in any case.
I have already explained in a previous blog post why I have decided to write about animals, but the long and the short of it is that I want to be able to talk about all forms of oppression and persecution without having someone ask me if I am qualified to do so. The truth is that I have and do experience certain flavours of oppression and I know well enough that all variations of it are wrong.
Aside from the oppression/persecution side of things, I also find that writing about animals can be interesting. Amphibians have very specific needs, for example. Some animals were meant to hunt and kill smaller land animals for food, but that would (obviously) not be ethical; what would the solution be? The world building involved alone is exciting and challenging, as a quick browse of the World of Centrallis will prove.
I hope you will join me.
Please note: from Saturday, 15th February 2025 to Wednesday, 19th February 2025 the book will be free to download on Amazon Kindle.
